Generally, the type of personal information we collect about you is the information that is needed to facilitate your travel arrangements and bookings and to arrange travel-related services and products on your behalf. This may include:
Your name, residential address, mailing address, telephone number, email address, credit/debit card details (including card type, card number, security number and expiry date), passport details, frequent flyer details, and information about your dietary requirements and other details relevant to your travel arrangements or required by the relevant travel service providers (e.g. airlines, accommodation or tour providers).
When you make contact with us for other purposes, we may also collect personal information about you in relation to those purposes.
When we book products and services for you, we usually do so as an agent for or on behalf of travel service providers. This means that we usually collect personal information about you both for our internal purposes (e.g. to process your booking), and on behalf of the parties for whom we act as agent, for their internal purposes (e.g. to provide the booked services). Accordingly, the consent you provide under this Policy to the collection and use of personal information by us, applies equally to the parties whose products and services we sell. For example, if you purchase a flight from us, then under this Policy you will have consented to your personal information being provided to the airline to enable your flight to be booked.
We act as agent for or on behalf of many thousands of travel service providers, so it is not possible for us to set out in this Policy all of the travel service providers for whom we act nor exactly how each of these travel service providers will use your personal information.
There may be occasions when CLUB TRAVEL is legally required to provide access to its database in order to cooperate with police investigations or other legal proceedings. In those instances, the information so provided shall be solely for that purpose.
CLUB TRAVEL shall not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing or any other purposes without your express consent (except as specifically set out in the paragraph immediately above).
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We may link the information we store in cookies to any personal information you submit while on our website. The two types of cookies used on the CLUB TRAVEL website are described below:
Session ID cookies: These are used to maintain a so-called ‘session state’ and only lasts for the duration of your use of the website. A session cookie expires when you close your browser, or if you have not visited the server for a certain period of time. Session cookies are required for the website to function effectively, but are not used in any way to identify you personally.
Permanent cookies: These cookies outlast user sessions and store a unique number on your hard drive in order to identify you as an individual user. No personal data is stored in permanent cookies. You can view permanent cookies by looking in the cookies directory of your browser installation. CLUB TRAVEL uses permanent cookies to identify you between website visits. These permanent cookies are not required for the website to work, but may enhance your browsing experience.
Although you cannot block session cookies as they are required for the website to function correctly, your internet browser can be configured to reject permanent cookies and is dependent on the type of internet browser you use. Please refer to the relevant internet browser manufacturer’s website where you should be able to view the steps in rejecting these cookies if you wish to do so.
You may choose to opt-out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on which you may access here.
We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons), that help us better manage content on our website by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personal identifiable information.
CLUB TRAVEL’s newsletter subscribers have the option to opt-out of receiving further information from CLUB TRAVEL. There is an “unsubscribe” link in the footer of each email you receive. Alternatively, send us an email to unsubscribe. The client may also contact us to unsubscribe to any of our marketing material.
